Evaluation Capacity Building

Action Evaluation Collaborative offers a series of individual, one-on-one, and group learning opportunities where participants will gain a deeper understanding of how evaluation and M & E processes can contribute to the work of organizations, coalitions, networks, and other collaborative initiatives.

Whether asked by an external entity or conducted internally, evaluation can be a powerful organizational learning and planning tool and a core part of any organizational development/strategic planning, and communications or fundraising strategy. Our workshops are frequently requested by community-based organizations and their governing boards as well foundations for their grantees and technical assistance organizations.

The AEC approach to workshops views the actual workshop “days” as just part of the training process of learning, sharing, and reflecting. We implement pre- and post-workshop outreach strategies to ensure our work together is relevant and purposeful.

Directed by the needs of diverse groups working across sectors, participants will explore and identify the difference their work makes in communities. Developing an accessible outcomes framework and identifying indicators of work that is often challenging to measure are some of the topics covered in our training. In addition, our workshops prioritize strategies for communicating the methods and impact of social change work to a variety of stakeholders including funders.
